Elizabeth Allison, born in Chicago, Illinois, received her BFA from University of Michigan before moving to New York in 1999, where she continued her studies at the Art Students League.
Known for her moody, expressive watercolors of urban landscapes and figurative sculptures, the artist captures the light, frenetic energy, vulnerability and depth of her subjects.
Allison’s public sculpture installations have appeared in Riverside Park South, Van Cortland Park, the Greenpoint Sculpture Wall and Rockland Community College.
Allison is the recipient of the Raluca Popescu Memorial Scholarship, a Nessa Cohen Grant, three Elizabeth Greenshields Grants, and was the only American included in Beijing Tokyo Art Project’s inaugural Neo-Mōrōist Exhibition.
Elizabeth Allison lives in New York City and is an instructor at the Art Students League and The New York School of the Arts.
Her work has been featured in publications including The New York Times, The Daily News and on NBC News 4 NY, has been exhibited in the US and Asia and is held in international public and private collections.
